Google's Anti-Cat Policy

I'm not so put out by their postulation that cats could get stressed out at their offices, as much as I'm offended by the following statement:

Damn u, Google. Maybe they're just trying to be more like those dog sympathizers at Facebook.

A lot of Silicon Valley companies seem to be "dog companies", actually.

boooo - office cats make great additions to so many places!!!! besides, I would rather have a cat sleeping on my desk than a dog drooling at my feet. :)

Ugh! I am so sick of dogs being the hip choice. Lame.

I see where they're coming from, since cats get stressed out more easily than dogs and are quite territorial.

However, perhaps if there was a system in place of, say, one person bringing in their cat on certain days, that would at least eliminate the territorial concern for the most part....

But overall, I agree....lamesauce!!

Wow...seriously, Google? I think I hate you just a little bit now.

Obviously, you have never had a cat who enjoys going out and visiting places and meeting people ever come to your office, Google. And if I worked there, guess what? I'd bring my Aby, Jacoby. Not only would he not be stressed out...he wouldn't be fussed with a lame pack of dogs being in your office, either.

Suck it, Google.

(Wow that made me angry)

Cats are still America's #1 pet. That means something. (But really, you CAN love them both!)

Some of these comments did make me giggle... do not cross the Cat People!!

Seriously though, I love dogs as much as cats, but has a dog ever managed to convert my internet explorer to HTML at the touch of a button with one strategic claw click? Has a dog ever managed to translate my web page to Russian? NO! But my cat Sookie has.

Google, cats are genius web developers, if you can't accept that, you're probably employing monkeys.

LOL" Frankly my dear, I don't give a bleep". Sez Kitty. Cats are secure in their position in the animal world particularly when it comes to Humans. meh. Cats are cool...I think what it boils down to is this: Cats are more difficult to control, dogs will obey their masters (aka "the boss") cats have no bosses, they see all humans as their staff.

What a bunch of f-ing losers. I can't believe they actually feel they need a "Policy". It's one thing for everyone to be in general agreement about that, and another to have a written Policy. What, do they think they're in a country club? The funny thing is I actually work in a studio where the owner is dog person, so everyone there is welcome to bring in their dogs. So I guess you can say it's a "dog company". I am the resident cat lady, but no one cares and there is no policy about it. I don't bring my cat because he would get into too much mischief. All I have to say is that the studio OFTEN smells like dog and/or dog pee and poop. And there is constant yelling of "so and so dog just pooped in the fitting room! So and so has to go clean it!" It makes me laugh to think that people think that being a "dog company" is superior to being otherwise. My cat would know better than to poop in the middle of the work floor.

Pfft, any office would be better with an office cat.

If this is true, I am changing my web search engine to Bing.com. Cats are the best at office work, period!

Many work environments are not conducive to a cat's comfort and safety.

I think the attempt at 'levity' in the policy may be a little wonky.

I would be very worried about a cat in the office of a 'dog friendly' company since there are a LOT of dogs with a prey drive that could result in inadvertent injury to the cat, dog and/or people (employees, customers, etc.) as proven by Julie - CatAtelier

Not all of our pets are public access trained - as indicated by

I'm converting to BING. Oh and I hope one of those dogs being "brought in for work" bites or attacks another employee. Or employee's dog! Can you say LAWSUIT?
