Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to know some of your amazing kitties!
This week's news was dominated by Willow the cat who showed up 1,800 miles away from her home in Colorado, five years after she first disappeared! After being found, Willow was hot on the television circuit, meeting with undercover cat lover Anderson Cooper, who also revealed this week that he's in search of feline look-a-likes for his new daytime talk show.
Other buzzy headlines included the controversial glow-in-the-dark kittens who could be crucial in the fight against AIDS, updates on Oscar the Bionic kitty and Larry the Downing Street Cat, and the invention of unusual cat beds that imitate human laps.
Elsewhere in the news, feline fashionista Mr. Wendy invaded New York Fashion week, we checked out some cat sleep fashion (and facts), and we loved this new litter commercial featuring one very skilled cat masseur!
This week's featured feline comes to us from Connie and Janice. Their lil' Peanut got off to a bit of a rough start, but now he's a purrfectly sweet, healthy kitty.
"He was abandoned in a Publix Parking lot at about 4 weeks old. They couldn't take him in the store due to health issues, but a worker took him home for the night until Peanut found his permanent home with us.
Well, he had lumps on his belly and private area so I searched the agencies I knew to help me with a private doctor, as I am disabled and on social security/food stamps. I found "Save The Animals Now" and they help me keep him. He was neutered, and had to be on antibiotics for quite some time, and thank God they healed him.
Peanut is the most loving/devilish cat. We love him so! He's almost a year old now, and so very healthy. So that's the story of Peanut aka Baby Boy!"
Special thanks to Connie and Janice for sharing their kitty with us this week! I'm glad to hear that this beautiful boy is thriving in his new home, and that the kind folks at Save the Animals Now were able to step in and help give everyone involved in this story the happy ending they deserved!
