It's Caturday!

Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!

This week, Eva Longoria shilled for Sheba cat food, we (possibly) uncovered the oldest cat video of all time, MJ shared her husband's custom cat birthday cake, Gotye went to the dogs (and cats) in a "Somebody That I Used To Know" pet parody video, a kitten helped his owner put a ring on it, "Idea Channel" asked if minimalism is the secret to Hello Kitty's success, Around the World in 80 Cats hit Cat-n-Around in Catskill, New York, and I received a very special gift from a fellow cat lady -- all the way from Pakistan!

Elsewhere, we revisited the touching story behind Natalie's Bucky the Cat Tribute Tattoo, and started a brand new giveaway to win a copy of "Chicken Soup for the Soul: My Cat's Life: 101 Stories about All the Ages and Stages of Our Feline Family Members." Click HERE to read the story and enter!

Miss Misty

This week's featured feline is a pretty little lady who found herself a forever home just in time for the holidays, and now has a festive name to match her furry spirit!

Kat writes:

Miss Misty is a very beautiful silver tabby with rusty orange on her legs and tummy, and a very exotic looking face! And tufted ears! So sweet!

Miss Misty is our Security Video Monitor! She monitors our security cameras day and night!

She is a real love bug who came to us through a neighbor who has dogs and found her begging at his door around Thanksgiving of 2010. He picked her up and brought her over, and when my husband answered the door and saw her, he didn't even say anything, just reached out and took her. She appeared to be about five or six months old. We wanted her to have a Christmasy name so we settled on Miss Mistletoe, but she goes by Miss Misty.

Miss Misty and Raven

She is not much of a lap kitty, but loves to come around and do her twists and get some pets and back scritches a couple of times a day. She is very close to our black male, Raven. She gets along with all of the others okay, but enjoys teasing a couple of the "lesser" (in her opinion!) females. She usually seeks out the highest perch to sleep, unless she's hanging out with Raven, and then she will sleep with him.

Miss Misty's spell

When I found her totally zonked on the porch chair last summer I just had to take her picture! I started snapping shots as soon as I could so if she woke I'd have a few. She did wake up just as I was over her taking the downward shot, and it came out hilarious! Her eyes opened wide and her feet were still all splayed so it looks like she sees a ghost! lol! The rest are her at various times, and this morning sleeping at the front door with Raven. Hope you enjoy her! We just love her to pieces! But, we love all 14 of our cats to pieces! lol!

Special thanks to Kat for sharing a little bit of Christmas in July June with us this week! Miss Misty is a beautiful kitty, and is clearly in good company among her thirteen (!) other fur siblings!
