Katkeshi Fever

Katkeshi are the original art concept of tsai-fi (pronounced sci-fi) designs, inspired by "a girl who appeared to be sugary sweet and innocent, but was actually a true party animal." Katkeshis are one part demure kokeshi (Japanese wooden dolls), and one part wild kitty, because "cats are traditionally strong willed and full of personality." Meowza!

I came across these adorable little figurines online, and I'm smitten! The wooden pieces are hand sculpted, casted, and painted so no two are exactly alike.

The Katkeshi line extends to other super kawaii items as well, such as jewelry, t-shirts, and prints.

Oh, I love that t-shirt! Very cool. I'll have to show this to my daughter -- she is crazy about Japanese art and cats.

OMC! My mum has the Sweetest Blossom Tee. It is a great T, they do run a little small in size. Mum's an American Medium and wears the L snuggly or should I say sexily! ke ke ke
