Special CPR Mask Gives Cat One of His Nine Lives Back

"Had it not been for the work of two young girls, Oliver, a 1-year-old cat, would probably not be alive today."

Who said black cats are unlucky? 9NEWS.com in Colorado is reporting on one very fortunate black feline, named Oliver. The coal colored cat recently survived a terrible apartment fire that caused $50,000 worth of damage. Sadly, another cat did not make it, but Oliver survived, thanks to a pet CPR mask used to resuscitate him.

"The special masks were donated to the fire department a couple of years ago by two young girls who sold jewelry to raise money for special animal equipment. This was the first time they put that equipment to use."

How amazing is that!? Oliver had to receive oxygen treatment for smoke inhalation, but as of yesterday The Humane Society of Boulder Valley said that he is "doing well."
