Cats in Japan 2010 - Hakone - Owakudani Natural Hot Springs

The Owakudani Natural Hot Springs, a popular tourist attraction in the Hakone region of Japan, is a "volcanic hot spot" surrounded by sulfurous springs.

This man is putting eggs into the water. When they are hard-boiled in the natural hot spring water, they turn black.

It is said that eating one of these black eggs will prolong your life by seven years!

The area also offers breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji.

And souvenir shops with Hello Kittys sitting out front!
