Melissa Joan Hart may have played the title character on Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but the real star of the show was Salem Saberhagan, her sass talking black cat.
Salem in fact was not a real cat, but a warlock trapped in a cat's body for 100 years as punishment for trying to take over the world. The supernatural kitty was played by an animatronic figure and four real cats. Often used as comic-relief, Salem provided advice to Sabrina that usually ended up making her problems worse.

Last year, PEOPLEPets did a Where Are They Now? feature where they caught up with famous animal stars for an update. This cat, whose real name is Warlock, was one of the cats used to portray Salem on the series. Now 10, he's retired, and "has the run of the house," says trainer Cathy Pittman. "He gets up from one nap to go take another."
