Vogue Pairs Cats & Flats With Purrfect Results

Pignoli

I've always been enamored with high-fashion cat photo shoots, and Vogue.com doesn't disappoint with their latest installment of meow-couture. Every day this month they've been combining the exquisite combination of felines and flats, into a daily photo feature highlighting the hottest spring shoes.

Mind you, this is Vogue and these aren't just any cats. The Grace Coddington-approved models include adoptable cats from Anjellicle Cats and Bideawee in NYC, and Instagram glitterati like Princess Monster Truck, whose striking underbite is redefining standards of beauty in the feline world, and beyond.

Check out "The Cat and the Flat: Spring Shoes and Kittens Make the Perfect Pair" for even more stunning shots, and watch for a new image to be posted there every day through the end of March!

Rihanna is up for adoption from Bideawee.

Tommy

The internet's own Princess Monster Truck.

Florence is up for adoption from Bideawee.

George

Charlie and Tiramisu, whose nickname is "Susy" BECAUSE OF COURSE IT IS.

Not to play favorites here, but let me just tell you that there is a new "IT" cat in town, and her name is TARAJI.

Taraji works..

Taraji lurks...

And Taraji's tiny face is the only thing that could distract you from these amazing $725 patent-leather printed Miu Miu flats.

THE END.

Choupette Lagerfeld Shares German Vogue Cover With Linda Evangelista

Karl Lagerfeld's beloved cat, Choupette, is back, this time on the July cover of German Vogue alongside supermodel Linda Evangelista. The striking black and white cover was shot by Lagerfeld himself, and is not the feline's first foray into print. At barely two years old, Choupette, arguably the most famous cat in fashion, has already conquered the pages of V, Vanity Fair, and i-D, among others.

The pampered puss, who is notorious for living a lavish style which includes private jets, personal maids, and her own iPad (from which she presumably runs her popular Twitter account), recently made headlines after the designer expressed interest in turning her into his furry bride.

“There is no marriage, yet, for human beings and animals," the Chanel mastermind told CNN's Alina Cho. "I never thought that I would fall in love like this with a cat.”

Eidé Magazine Presents "The Cat Issue"

THE CAT ISSUE

Cats aren't fashion accessories, but they sure look darn cute posing next to them, which is why I flipped for the recent ALL CAT issue of of eidé magazine!

The free, feline-themed edition of the digital mag was supposed to be an April Fools' Day joke, but is actually a gorgeous collection of squee-worthy kittens posing with all sorts of finery.

In between the pages of feline photo shoots, you'll also find tongue-in-cheek articles about Hollywood kitties ("Where are they meow?"), glow-in-the-dark cats, and even an interview with "My Cat From Hell" star, Jackson Galaxy.

Eidé is an online magazine where you can buy everything seen on its pages, directly from their site. The best part is, all of the kitten models are available from Georgia's largest no-kill shelter, Fur Kids, Inc., so hopefully it will help all of them find homes, too!

Read the entire Cat Issue for free here.

Special thanks to the lovely Laurie of The Itty Bitty Kitty Committee for this awesome cat fashion tip! If you're not reading her amazing cat blog, you're really missing out!

Diane Kruger Cozies Up To Her Kitty For Flare Magazine

Diane Kruger covers the April issue of Canadian fashion magazine, Flare, but it's some striking images inside the mag that caught my cat fancy. The German actress, best known for her turn in "Inglourious Basterds" and her upcoming role in "The Host," was captured cuddling up to a beautiful grey and white feline for the photo shoot.

Watch Now: On Set With Diane Kruger

The star can be seen kissing and petting the kitty in a behind-the-scenes video, and as it turns out, her tenderness is no act. The cat, named Hobbes, belongs to Kruger, along with her longtime partner, Joshua Jackson (Pacey!!), of "Dawson's Creek" fame. Magazine editors reveal that Diane brought Hobbes to the shoot as her date, and "in the end (we) were so smitten, we asked the feline to co-star."

This isn't the first time the stunning starlet has made headlines of the feline variety. Last month she was spotted wearing a cool kitty tee from ASOS, and in January, The Daily Mail devoted a whole article to her cat litter shopping expedition. Stars...they're just like us!

White House Black Market: "9 Lives Of The Little Black Dress"

I was recently going through some old folders in my desk, and came across a White House Black Market catalog that I've been hoarding away since 2009.

The combination of cats and fashion has always been intriguing to me, and while I don't necessarily advocate felines as fashion accessories, it can't be denied that they add a touch of glamour to any outfit. A lot has been written recently about the rise in popularity of cats in the fashion world, and I think it has a lot to do with the natural, effortless beauty they possess.

The concept of the White House Black Market photo shoot was "9 Lives of the Little Black Dress," and what better way to bring it to life then with black and white kitties? The featured looks may be out of style, but the cats themselves are timeless.

Well-Whiskered Felines Wear Business Catual

The Princess Bride

Neckwear has quickly become the fashion accessory of choice for well-dressed professional felines, and I can't help but think that Business Cat is partly to blame for the buttoned-up trend. But, even an online meme has to loosen up that necktie once in awhile, and that's where Business Catual comes in.

Dad's Ugly Chair

The Count Duckula

Becca and Josh run the feline formal wear collective, and describe their outfit as "one tom and a queen making some scratch while supporting animal welfare here in lovely Portland." Their goal is to use recycled materials that would have otherwise gone to waste, to create "pawsitively purrfect" accessories for cats, while also donating part of the proceeds to Cat Adoption Team.

The Original

The Old Cat Lady

The ties slide on to any collar through a loop on the back, and their quirky designs are just right for kitties who aren't ready to join the corporate rat race just yet. Choices range from oversized felted bowties that are more playful than professional, and fabric designs with hilarious names such as "Dad's Ugly Chair," "Mom's Kitchen Wallpaper," and "The Old Cat Lady."

The Pink Lady

Stop by Business Catual to save your cat the embarrassment of being sent home from work yet again for being underdressed, and they'll thank you in time by getting that two sardine raise you were both hoping for.

Lily The Kitty Reclaims The Catwalk At New York Fashion Week

Lily

They don't call it a catwalk for nothing.

While Tracy Reese's New York Fashion Week presentation was praised for its use of bold colors and animal prints, it was a real life animal-sighting that drew the most attention during the designer's fall collection show on Sunday afternoon. A flurry of tweets announced the arrival of Lily, a 4-year-old Siamese Blue Point rescue cat, who made her runway debut on the arm of one of the models.

The attention-grabbing stunt was part of a collaboration with Purina One cat food, in their effort to challenge the misconception that cats can't be leash trained. In addition to adding a touch of feline chic to any outfit, leash training is a way to incorporate more activity into your kitty's life and give them an enriched experience (I mean, how many cats do you know that get to walk the runway at Fashion Week?).

Reese said of the collaboration, “As a designer, I draw inspiration from everything around me, including cats. I loved the idea of incorporating cats into the runway show; cats have a lot of energy, which was the perfect complement to the models and my new line.”

Lily isn't the only cat to have emerged during the week-long New York fashion celebration. On Thursday night, Glamour magazine launched a cat fashion concept store in the Meatpacking district, paying tribute to cats in fashion, while giving them a chance to be worshipped by fashion's elite. The pop-up included a wall of cat fashion history, sparkly cat-headed mannequins wearing feline-inspired clothing, and an event where guests received complimentary cat manicures, and cat-eye makeup by MAC.

Crack A Smile For Pecan The Nut

Pecan

At least one of our feline friends is still reeling from the loss of his beloved 49er's this weekend, but it's hard to stay glum when you're just so darn cute!

Pecan (aka "The nut") is a sports fanatic (he also cheered the SF Giants to a World Series win in October), who enjoys keeping fashionable while staying in touch with fans on his popular Facebook page

His human mama, Michelle, tells me that Pecan is a patient, treat-motivated feline, born in Carmel Valley, California. He was adopted from a cat rescue the day after Thanksgiving about seven years ago, and was named after the pie served on turkey day!

In addition to being quite handsome, the former rescue kitty turned fashion chameleon also has a charitable side. His sold out 2013 desk calendar raised $550 for Humane Society Silicon Valley, proving once and for all that being cute pays!

Become a fan of Pecan on Facebook to follow his latest status updates, photos and shenanigans. Word on the street is that he hopes to have some Valentine's Day-themed pics up soon!
