James Franco Talks Growing Up A Cat Person, Adopting Black Cats On "Ellen"

James Franco and His Cat Calendar

James Franco, noted cat man, recently made an ovary busting appearance on "The Ellen Show," where the host engaged him in an aww-inducing round of cat chat. The actor admitted that he was raised a cat person, and shared a snap of his family posing with their kitties:

Even more adorable, Franco revealed that he recently adopted two black cats named Lux and Max from the set of his new movie "Homefront," which opens in theaters later this month. While his character in the film steals the cat, in real life, Franco adopted the kitty and his stunt double.

Max is such a cute kitty!

Lux and Max not only scored a forever home with the movie star, but some sweet Halloween costumes, too!

To wrap up the segment, DeGeneres presented James with his own 2014 cat calendar, featuring the scantily clad celeb alongside some adorable pussies. Sadly, there's no word on when the one-of-a-kind collectible will be available in stores, but luckily for us, the actor shared a few of the photoshopped pin-ups on Instagram. Me-ow!

Jennifer Lawrence Is A (Reluctant) Cat Lady

Jennifer Lawrence's New Cat

I always took Jennifer Lawrence for a dog person, but as it turns out, the Oscar winning Silver Linings Playbook star is actually a cat-lady-in-training. The 22-year-old visited "The Ellen Show" back in November, where she opened up to DeGeneres about her tortoiseshell kitten, Cleo.

Ellen, who apparently works as a cat whisperer in her spare time, educated Lawrence on matters of feline gender and marking habits, before advising the novice pet owner to get Cleo a kitty companion. In the end, Jennifer didn't seem convinced that adding another cat would help solve her kitty's peeing problem, but based on the reaction she had to Cleo's picture appearing on-screen, I definitely see more cats in her future.

Russell Brand Treats Ellen To A Charming Video Starring His Cat Morrissey

Russell Brand's Cat Video

I've been firmly on team Katy Kat ever since the demise of the pop star's marriage to Russell Brand (I mean, did you see Katy Perry: Part of Me 3D?), but on a recent trip to "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," the comedian redeemed himself, and perhaps gave us a glimpse into why Perry fell in love with him in the first place.

In honor of Ellen's "Decade of Wonder," Brand brought along a homemade cat video, starring his beloved tuxedo kitty, Morrissey. He tells the talk show host, "I sometimes talk to actual Morrissey about cat Morrissey, and sort of blush at the oddness of it all."

The clip gives us a peek into Russell's home, which features a custom cat portrait of Moz ("because he's so adored and admired," he explains), and also shows him breaking down into coos of, "Who is my baby love, who is my baby cat?" in a scene ripped right out of my own life. He might not make the greatest husband, but at least we know he's a good cat dad.

Taylor Swift Brings Meredith's "Cat Fail" To Ellen

Taylor Swift's Cat Fail

The odd (non) couple of Taylor Swift and Zac Efron recently visited The Ellen DeGeneres Show to talk about their new movie "The Lorax" - and inevitably, the topic of conversation turned to Swift's Scottish Fold kitten, Meredith.

In the clip seen here, Taylor talks about how alongside career highlights of receiving a standing ovation at the Grammys and singing with her idol James Taylor, getting a cat was one of the top five moments of her life. The singer-turned-cat-lady also shared a video (above), showing the adorable kitten taking an unexpected tumble off the couch.

Hopefully, DeGeneres' own cats weren't at home watching the interview, or else their egos may have ended up a bit bruised. The animal loving host repeatedly gushed about Meredith being the cutest cat she's ever seen - joking that she often questions her kitties as to why they aren't as cute!
