It's Caturday!

Welcome back for another edition of Caturday, where we catch up on the week's latest cat news, and get to meet some of your amazing kitties!

This week, Grumpy Cat expanded her empire with a coffee drink and plush doll, Simon's Cat had some unexpected baggage in "Suitcase," an adorable (and adoptable!) kitten made headlines after a mistake on the Chicago Tribune website, Jess shared her purrfect The Owl and the Pussycat themed cupcakes, and a giant cat Monopoly token took over London and found a forever home at a local shelter!

Also, there's still time to enter for your chance to win the kitty tee of your choice from Squirrel Den Studio! Choose from designs such as BADASSCAT, Yoga Kitty, Adopt, and more. I'm drawing the lucky winner this coming Tues. Aug 6!

Samantha with Harley and Tallulah

This week's featured felines share a tale of love, loss and rebirth, proving that a kitty's love always lives on.

Samantha writes:

At the start of this year I adopted two cats, both around 2 to 3 years old, called Harley and Tallulah. Both of them were incredibly loving and friendly, we became like a little family.

Harley

Tallulah

Six weeks weeks after I'd bought them home, Harley passed away unexpectedly, which was completely devastating. Then I found out that he and Tallulah hadn't been fixed like I'd originally been told, and she was actually pregnant.

Tallulah and her kittens.

A few weeks later, I came home from work to find she had given birth in my wardrobe to a litter of four beautiful kittens. I found good homes for three of them but the last one I couldn't bear to part with, as it looked so much like Harley.

Baby Bilbo

So now I'm back to having two cats again, Tallulah and Bilbo (who's actually a girl in spite of her name!).

Both of them love snuggling on the sofa, chasing each others tails, sunbathing by the kitchen window and waking me up every morning (sometimes earlier than I'd like!) by playing with my knees or crawling up close and meowing in my face.

They bring me so much happiness and I don't know how I'd cope without them!

Special thanks to Samantha for sharing the story of her furry family this week! You can check out her blog here.
