Charlotte Olympia Cat Boots Stomp Their Way Into Stores This Fall

The evolution of Charlotte Olympia's ultra-gorgeous (and ultra-expensive) line of kitty shoes continues this fall, with the release of the Pussy Cat Velvet Boots. The $895 leather booties, which are available for pre-order from luisaviaroma.com (with an Aug. 31 arrival date), include a side zip closure, gold embroidered cat face, and a shiny, whip-like tail that wraps around the back (insert Puss in Boots joke here).

Olympia's feline footwear hasn't undergone such a drastic makeover since April, when the designer collaborated on a punk rock version of her popular kitty flats in honor of the Costume Institute's “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.



These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over mew.

Anarchy Kitty: Charlotte Olympia's Cat Flats Get A Punk Rock Makeover

Charlotte Olympia Anarchy Kitty Flat

Known for their chic silhouette, exclusive price tag, and celeb status (they've been spotted on Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Anne Hathaway and more), Charlotte Olympia's cat flats have become a covet worthy piece of cat fashion since their debut in Fall 2011.

Most recently, Olympia collaborated with fellow London-based designer Tom Binns, for a punk-inspired collection of accessories, which saw her iconic feline footwear get an edgy new look.



The result is the Anarchy Kitty flat, whose traditional gold stitching has been swapped out with neon pink and green thread, and ears and nose adorned with rebellious safety pin piercings. As StyleBistro puts it, "(the flats have) spent the past six months in their garage, hanging out with older, cooler shoes, learning how to play the bass, and recording two-minute songs with lots of yowls and meows." 

The limited edition collection is in honor of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s “Punk: Chaos to Couture” exhibit, opening in NYC next month. The shoes, which will retail for around $800, are sure to be a hot collector's item, and will be available exclusively at Charlotte Olympia stores in London and New York, and on charlotteolympia.com beginning May 2.

Good ol' Taylor Swift has teamed up with Keds for her very own snazzy sneaker collection, because what other celebrity can you imagine wearing Keds more than Taylor Swift?

The singer, who frequently posts Twitter updates involving her Scottish Fold, Meredith, let her inner cat lady dictate the collection, which includes two adorable feline-themed motifs.



"Taylor Swift's Favorite Things" is a pinkish (red?) sneaker covered in a delightful mix of aqua colored cats, hearts, and bows, with a gold guitar pick charm.

The "Paw Dot" (a mix of polka-dots and cat paws), is available in navy and teal, with a silver, heart-shaped "13" charm attached.

From the first time I wrote about Charlotte Olympia's covet-worthy kitty flats, people have been wanting to know where they could find a cheaper version. The British footwear designer's original feline inspired footwear are gorgeous pieces of wearable art, made in Italy out of velvet and leather. A pair of the embroidered slippers retails for $595 at high-end department stores like Neiman Marcus, while the ankle-breaking platform wedge version clocks in at a cool $875.

Boohoo is currently selling a similar version of the flat, for those who want to get the kitty look without blowing a rent payment. $30 will score you a pair of the black or leopard print "Suedette Cat Face Ballet Shoes" that mimic the look of the real thing worn by stars such as Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, and Beyoncé.

Bon Iver Frontman Justin Vernon Collaborates On Cat Inspired Shoes For Charity

Bon Iver's Justin Vernon recently announced a cat-friendly footwear collaboration with Keep Company, to help benefit animals in need.

Vernon, who is the proud papa of rescued kitties Flo and Melmon, designed the cruelty-free sneakers to help support Best Friends Animal Society, an animal advocacy group which operates the nation's largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals in Kebab, Utah.

The limited edition salmon colored kicks are a cat's dream, with herringbone accents and a black fishbone detail across the toe. They can be pre-ordered in men's and women's sizes through Keep's website until July 1st, and will also be available in select stores worldwide starting in October.

André x Catwoman: A Shoe Collection Worth Fighting For

If you were one of the many ladies who got excited over Catwoman Converse you'd better grab a chair, because the new Catwoman vs Wonder Woman shoe collection, a collaboration between DC Comics and French designer André, is really going to knock you off your feet!

A string of Rachel Zoe-isms flew out of my mouth when I laid eyes on the new line that turns a high fashion eye towards Gotham City's favorite bad kitty. The four styles of feline inspired footwear include green comic printed flats, black ballerinas complete with purple ears and whiskers, bewhiskered kitten heels, and a pair of Selina's signature ass-kicking leather boots!

The collection retails for between 119 - 159 Euros (approximately $164 - $220 USD) a pair, and is sadly only available in Europe (not even online at the moment), but that won't stop me from lusting over them from afar. Which pair are your favorite? I'd take either of the flats, but I'd happily wear the boots, too!

André x Catwoman: A Shoe Collection Worth Fighting For

Streetzie's High Heel Kitten Slippers

My birthday isn't for another two weeks, but last week I got an amazing gift in the mail from the one and only Streetzie Desire, of the legendary Streetzie's High Heel Bunny Slippers! I'm a huge fan, and was beyond thrilled when she offered to send me a pair of her perfect pink, satin and synthetic fur kitten heels!

They arrived in a gorgeous, sweet smelling box, all tied up with a bow, and even came with a brush to keep my kitty-cats sparkling clean!

Immediately after putting them on, I felt transformed into a classic Hollywood glamour-kitten, and vowed to add them to my cache of cat blogging attire!

Back in April, I reported that the New Orleans-based mother & daughter team were hard at work whipping up a line of feline footwear to complement their already hugely popular line of bunny slippers.
