I Want A Nikki Cat Fashion Doll

I've been seeing these Nikki Cat dolls in my internet travels recently, and didn't know anything about them except that I wanted one! An intense Google search revealed scant info about the fashionable kitties, but I was able to ascertain that they're the brainchild of a Japanese company called Petworks. According to the company's English website, the dolls are officially known as Odeco-chan (girl) and Nikki (cat). They debuted in 2006, are almost 8 inches tall, and "have sleep eyes." (Their eyes close when you lay them down). I also found this great Australian doll site that features a comprehensive listing of every Odeco and Nikki pair ever!

One of my favorite things about the dolls is that their fans have taken creative liberty with them, dressing them in handmade outfits and posing them for fantastic photo shoots. If you go to Flickr and search the phrase "Nikki Cat doll", you'll find hundreds of such photos.

Today I stumbled upon Shan329's Etsy cat hat boutique, and the Asian inspired, handmade designs are just too amazing not to share. These aren't just cat hats, they're tiny works of art! Unfortunately, the shop only has one hat currently for sale, but if you're really interested, you can probably message the seller to make a special request. Not gonna lie, I want the Geisha hat for myself! Do I sense a line of Catsparella cat hats in the future?
