A few months ago I tried out some cool cat nail art stickers by Janchristie.com, so when the ladies recently asked if I wanted to check out their new Christmas kitty design, I jumped at the chance. The stickers are inexpensive, easy to put on (especially since I'm a pro now), and super cute (you can read a more in-depth review in my previous post). The Christmas design, which features a kitty in a Santa hat, comes in a variety of colors and cat-types, including black cat (the design I'm wearing), black and white, ginger, kitten, and a variety of tabbies (check out the rest of their feline offerings here). I used a gold OPI polish (Glitzerland) as a base to add some sparkle before applying the stickers, and finished it all off with a clear top coat. Bonus! KeKe The Adopted Tabby Cat MAKES HISTORY! FIRST ANIMAL IN HIP HOP! FEAT LIL B!!! Rapper Lil B (not to be confused with famous internet cat, Lil Bub) is all about changing perceptions within the hip-hop community. Back in April, he gave a lecture at NYU where he proudly proclaimed, "You know I’m the first rapper to adopt a tabby cat. You know I adopted straight from the ASPCA, you feel me? Just breaking the boundaries, man, showing everybody it’s okay to be yourself." Now, the artist is taking his real men love cats mentality one step further, by giving his beloved tabby, KeKe, her moment in the spotlight. According to Lil B (and who are we to refute this), Keke is the first animal to record a song in a studio featuring a hip-hop artist. Her debut track, which dropped earlier this week on YouTube, is a five-minute meow mix of noise and purrs, with the rapper encouraging the cat to "say something," and calling her a "good kitty." From the video's description: "PRODUCED BY LIL B! THIS IS AMAZING!!! HOW WAS THIS DONE? KEKE THE ADOPTED TABBY CAT, SOME CALL HER KEKE THE BASED CAT, HAS MADE HISTORY! (Click here to watch if video doesn't load) A tiny kitten took his obsession with the new Daniel Day Lewis flick too far, when he found himself stuck inside a statue of Abraham Lincoln at the President's Hall of Fame Museum in Clermont, Fl. The three-week-old cat's cries were becoming fainter after enduring days inside the presidential replica, as The Humane Society and Minneola Fire Department were called in for help. A news crew looked on as rescuers drilled a hole in the top of the structure, and a firefighter was able to pull the kitten to safety. The patriotic puss, who has appropriately been named Abe, was fed and taken to the vet, where he is expected to make a full recovery. No one knows how Abe got in the statue to begin with, but it's a twist of fate that just might have led to his new home. Museum curator John Zweiful hopes to adopt the cat, and give him a home inside the Hall of Fame. Hooray! Via digtriad.com / New York Daily News

This week's featured feline turned her mama from someone who didn't like cats very much, into a lady who submits her kitty to be featured in a Caturday post! Maria writes: I never liked cats until January 2009 when a cat showed up out of nowhere with four babies, and I fell in love with the tuxedo kitten. The mother took off with the others, but I ended up keeping Kitty. At first I was very ignorant and thought she was a boy and named him Sylvester, but my daughter pointed out that Sylvester was actually a girl, so her name became Kitty! My Fat Baby Kitty will be 4-years-old this coming January. Needless to say, I LOVE her!! Special thanks to Maria for sharing her pretty Kitty with us this week! p.s.
