Locketship Unleashes The Día de los Meowtos Collection

Lola Blanc and Calico Beef

Our friends at Locketship recently released the Día de los Meowtos Collection, their feline take on the Mexican Day of the Dead. The jewelry and accessories line includes glittery rings and necklaces, along with flowery brooches, collars, and cat ear headbands, available in a fresh palette of delicious sherbet shades like mint, lavender, and pink.

In addition to the jewelry, I'm also smitten with the photos accompanying the campaign, featuring model Lola Blac and one of my favorite kitties, Calico Beef!

Visit Locketship.com to check out the entire collection, and while you're there, shop the Spring Sale through this weekend for 25% off all rings, plus free shipping on domestic orders!

Where's The Beef? Meet Calico Beef, Our New Kitty Obsession

"Someone take me to the happiest place on earth #disneyland"

I was trying to convince one of my good friends (yo, Alison!) to sign up for Instagram the other day, and was explaining that my favorite part of the app wasn't posting my own pictures, but being able to discover a slew of super cute new kitties to follow. One fab feline whose pix I always heart is Calico Beef, whose human, Maria, is the creative force behind L.A.-based jewelry company, Locketship.

Beef Tub

Maria creates quirky and colorful necklaces, rings, earrings, and more that often feature kittens (could her cat cupcake rings be any more my speed?) and Persian cats. As it turns out, she doesn't have to look far for inspiration, as she has plenty in the form of the exceptionally adorable Beef.

"TGIF! Party in my box!"

I asked Maria to share some info on my latest fluffy cat-session, and here's what she had to say:

Beef will be 5-years-old in January. She is a dilute calico Persian. She is very sweet. I'm sure you've seen that she loves boxes! Everytime I put a new box out she jumps in it. She sleeps in a Tupperware one all day and night. Her favorite "toy" is an iPhone charger cord. She likes to smash her flat face against things like the wall, the bed, your hand, etc. When I first saw her do that I was worried she couldn't breathe, but she does it all the time. She doesn't like to be held unless she's inside her box. You can carry her around the house in the box and she's fine with it. In the morning she wakes up and tries to meow to wake me up but it usually is just a tiny squeak since she's barely awake herself. She's very friendly with strangers and will stare at them until they scratch her belly. She doesn't like cat treats and the only time she ever tried to eat my human food is when I was eating a donut! Other than that she's just super cute and sweet!

"This box is cool! I can smash my face on it and still breathe at the same time! Win!"

"Wake me when it's lunchtime"

"Only Beef can prevent forest fires!"

Update: Ben made a creative edit to the last pic! http://i.imgur.com/pJ1Aw.png

To get your daily dose of Beef, find her on Instagram @calicobeef (and follow me @catsparella while you're at it!) If you're not on the filter-friendly photo app, don't fret - she posts regular updates on her Facebook fan page, too.

Cat Club Necklace

Much like a cat, I have an affinity for shiny (cute) things, which is part of the reason I'm totally obsessed with the shimmering necklaces, earrings, rings, and accessories produced by Locketship. Los Angeles-based Designer Maria Ewing creates a wide range of unique, handmade resin jewelry from her original artwork and adorable photography, often featuring unicorns, pugs, mermaids, and (my personal favorite) Persian cats and kittens!

One of her best selling lines, the Kitty Collection, is a swirl of pink glitter, beads, and bows, while the Good Cat Bad Cat line consists of black and white jewelry, purrfect for when you're feeling both naughty and nice.

Locketship Releases 'Good Cat Bad Cat' Jewelry Collection

While I've been told there's no such thing as a bad cat, there's nothing wrong with releasing your inner feline goddess with some edgy jewels celebrating good and evil, courtesy of Locketship.

Los Angeles-based jewelry designer Maria Ewing turns her original artwork and adorable photography into handmade pieces made of resin, and the Good Cat Bad Cat collection features chunky cat-themed necklaces, rings, and earrings festooned with bows, pearls, and glitter. (My personal favorite is the "Cat Club Necklace"). If you're looking for something a little less sinister, the bubblegum tinted confections of the Kitty Collection should help satisfy your sweet side, too.

I love the saucy images they came up with to help promote the new line (below), and am especially obsessed with the fact that the black cat looks like Charlie if he were wearing hair (fur?) extensions.
